CPAP Recall Notice – Update Feb 2024
It was announced on January 29th, 2024, that the FDA and Philips Respironics have made an agreement to halt sales of Respironics products, including PAP devices and noninvasive ventilators, due overheating issues with usage, until the issue can be resolved. Details are currently limited from the FDA and Philips. At this time, there is not a new recall, and the FDA is allowing the continued usage of existing Philips machines. We are still awaiting guidance from Phillips, the FDA and medical societies, for guidance in regards to the new information about Philips Respironics. We recommend continued use of your machines at this time. Should a new recall be issued, we will update this message to assist you in obtaining a replacement machine. Should you prefer to replace your machine now, please check with your insurance company to see if you are eligible for replacement first. Otherwise, as this is not a recall event, and if not covered for replacement, a new machine cost would come out of pocket. This message will be updated periodically as we learn more about the new Philips Respironics issue.
Thank you.
